Glossary Definition
A defined contribution plan is a type of retirement plan where employees can contribute a percentage of their paycheck to their account before taxes are taken out. Employers may contribute to these plans as a benefit to their employees. Two common types of defined contribution plans are 401(k)s and 403(b)s.
